The interesting part
is in the details.

Changing a system is one thing. Proving it still gives the right answers, and being able to recover when it doesn't, is the work I enjoy.

    Moving authorization data off repeated live fetches, with side-by-side validation before a single cutover.

    Taking an authorization capability from ingestion and indexing through to the query API and production rollout.

    Not a bad day.

    Fault-isolated processing

    Keeping valid data moving when a record is malformed, without quietly pretending nothing was lost.

02A little context

Not quite a straight line.

My route here ran through finance in New York and military service in Korea. These days, I'm in Seattle, working on Microsoft's Azure authorization systems.

At JPMorgan, I built trading and risk tools. At Microsoft, I work on data infrastructure and reliability. Different domains, but the same need to be precise about what a system is doing.

Outside work: home cooking, cocktails, and finding a reason to travel.
